Description
Description
The Visually Hungry exhibitions documented the ubiquitous British creative genius throughout his extraordinary career in which he has shot the many of the world’s leading personalities, models and celebrities. A pioneer and leader in his field, Rankin is famous for his unique style which pushes boundaries with era-defining portraiture, genre-challenging fashion and impossibly erotic nudes.
The exhibition featured over 300 images and spans the past 20 years of his extensive back catalogue including names from the artistic, cultural and political spectrum. This is in addition to fashion images, some instantly recognisable as the most iconic photography from recent times and others as you’ve never seen them before. Visually Hungry was launched at the 29th International Photofestival at Knokke-Heist, Belgium and had an accompanying publication, featuring pieces from the show as well many more examples of Rankin’s work.
The show, composed of twelve constituent elements; Fairies, Cats, Archive, Portraits, Fashion, Eyescapes, One Dress, Snog, Breeding and SofaSoSexy, Erotica, Tuulitastic, Beautyfull and Polaroids toured Belgium, Moscow and China.
